When everything around you feels unsteady

Many of us carry fear, uncertainty and tension these days. The news, worries about our health, our future, our children.

Simply opening the news or social media can bring a wave of unease. The mind tries to think its way to calm, and often can’t. We feel it in the body as much as in the mind.

This weekend takes a different route. Rather than arguing with worry, you work with the body – slow, continuous movements that help you come home to yourself and enter a state of no-mind, where thinking quietens and you’re simply present. When the body feels grounded, open and steady, the mind often follows.

What fearlessness means here

Fearlessness isn’t about never feeling fear. It’s about not being carried away by it. In the Daoist tradition, steadiness grows from the inside, from a body that feels warm, rooted and safe. In Chinese medicine, fear is linked to the kidneys, which are seen as the root of our energy. This weekend, Master Yang guides movements that cultivate and nourish kidney energy, helping you feel more grounded from within. With regular practice, this steadiness becomes something you can return to in daily life.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF YOU:
✔ You feel tense, restless or on edge, and want a gentle way to settle
✔ You find it hard to quiet the mind
✔ You’re going through a difficult time, personally or at work
✔ You often worry about the future and find it hard to let go
✔ You’d like a short practice to come back to when things feel uncertain
✔ You’ve followed Calligraphy Health online and would like to practise with Master Yang
✔ You already practise and want to explore the method through this theme

WHAT YOU WILL EXPLORE:
✔ moving with softness and less unnecessary tension
✔ how movement and breath support the mind
✔ feeling connected through the whole body
✔ a simple sequence you can make part of your day

WHAT PEOPLE OFTEN NOTICE:
Practitioners often describe feeling warmer, steadier and more settled in their body after practice. With regular practice, many find that this calmer baseline starts to carry into the rest of their day.

How the weekend works

Both days follow the same rhythm: two hours of guided practice, then half an hour of questions with Master Yang.

Master Yang teaches the movements step by step, and you follow along at your own pace, standing or seated. The aim isn’t to perform them perfectly. It’s to soften unnecessary tension and let the whole body move together. Rest whenever you need to. After the practice, you can ask Master Yang your questions live.

Both days are recorded and available for six months, so you can keep practising at home.

You don’t need previous experience, flexibility or a particular level of fitness. Keeping your camera on is optional.

About Master
Zhen Hua Yang

Master Zhen Hua Yang comes from a family with a 400-year tradition of internal energy practices and martial arts. He began training at the age of two under the guidance of his father and grandfather, and later refined his skills with the renowned Buddhist monk Hai Deng – known for his legendary “one-finger stand” – as well as with a highly accomplished Daoist master.

His personal experience of overcoming asthma in childhood through practice became his motivation to help others. For over 30 years, he has shared his knowledge with a diverse range of students – from monks and athletes to artists and business professionals – helping them achieve greater performance through inner balance.

About Calligraphy Health

“It’s not just about the movement. It’s about what lies beyond it.” – Master Zhen Hua Yang

Calligraphy Health is a moving meditation, where inner peace meets fluid, harmonious body movements. Rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom, this method guides you toward reuniting body and mind through conscious breathing and mindfulness.

Master Yang’s approach values personal experience over theory. Through practice, you discover the wisdom of your own body and a deep connection with yourself.
