A different way into meditation

Two days of live practice with Master Yang. Slow, flowing movement that brings your attention to the body.

Meditation is usually taught sitting still. Calligraphy Health offers another way in. Rooted in Nei Gong and Qi Gong, it uses slow, continuous movement inspired by the brushstrokes of Chinese calligraphy, so your attention has something to rest on. Instead of asking the mind to be quiet, you work with the body, and the quiet comes from there.

If you already meditate seated, many practitioners find the two support each other. If sitting still has always felt difficult, this may be the way in that suits you.

You don’t need any experience. You need a little space to move and a willingness to slow down.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU IF YOU:
✔ find sitting meditation difficult and want another way in
✔ prefer gentle movement to forceful exercise
✔ want a practice you can return to at home, a few minutes at a time
✔ are curious about how movement, breath and attention work together
✔ already practise Calligraphy Health and want to practise live with Master Yang again

WHAT YOU WILL EXPLORE:
✔ moving with softness and less unnecessary tension
✔ how movement, breath and attention support each other
✔ feeling connected through the whole body, not only the limbs
✔ a simple sequence you can make part of your day

WHAT PEOPLE OFTEN NOTICE:
Practitioners often describe feeling warmer, steadier and more settled in their body after practice. With regular practice, many find that this calmer baseline starts to carry into the rest of their day.

How the weekend works

Both days follow the same rhythm: two hours of guided practice, then half an hour of questions with Master Yang.

Master Yang teaches the movements step by step, and you follow along at your own pace, standing or seated. The aim isn’t to perform them perfectly. It’s to soften unnecessary tension and let the whole body move together. Rest whenever you need to. After the practice, you can ask Master Yang your questions live.

Both days are recorded and available for six months, so you can keep practising at home.

You don’t need previous experience, flexibility or a particular level of fitness. Keeping your camera on is optional.

About Master
Zhen Hua Yang

Master Zhen Hua Yang comes from a family with a 400-year tradition of internal energy practices and martial arts. He began training at the age of two under the guidance of his father and grandfather, and later refined his skills with the renowned Buddhist monk Hai Deng – known for his legendary “one-finger stand” – as well as with a highly accomplished Daoist master.

His personal experience of overcoming asthma in childhood through practice became his motivation to help others. For over 30 years, he has shared his knowledge with a diverse range of students – from monks and athletes to artists and business professionals – helping them achieve greater performance through inner balance.

About Calligraphy Health

“It’s not just about the movement. It’s about what lies beyond it.” – Master Zhen Hua Yang

Calligraphy Health is a moving meditation, where inner peace meets fluid, harmonious body movements. Rooted in ancient Chinese wisdom, this method guides you toward reuniting body and mind through conscious breathing and mindfulness.

Master Yang’s approach values personal experience over theory. Through practice, you discover the wisdom of your own body and a deep connection with yourself.
